Welcome to SubWise ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how SubWise handles your data when you use our subscription management application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Subscription Data: Names, costs, billing cycles, and renewal dates of your subscriptions that you manually enter into the app
• Categories and Tags: Custom categories and tags you create to organize your subscriptions
• Payment Methods: Names of payment methods you enter (we do NOT collect actual credit card numbers or sensitive payment details)
• Notes: Any notes or descriptions you add to your subscriptions

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics to improve app performance (via RevenueCat)
• Crash Reports: Technical data about app crashes to improve stability
• Device Information: Device type, iOS version, and app version for compatibility purposes

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Send Reminders: Notify you of upcoming renewal dates (with your permission)
• Process Purchases: Handle in-app purchases and subscription management via RevenueCat
• Improve the App: Analyze anonymous usage patterns to enhance features and fix bugs

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

All your subscription data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This means:

• ✅ Your data remains on your device
• ✅ We cannot access your data
• ✅ Your data is protected by your device's security (Face ID, passcode)

4.2 iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your subscription data is stored in your personal iCloud account:

• ✅ Data is encrypted during transmission
• ✅ Data is stored in your private iCloud storage
• ✅ We do NOT have access to your iCloud data
• ✅ Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy applies

4.3 Security Measures

• Face ID/Touch ID protection for app access
• Encrypted local database storage
• Secure communication with RevenueCat for purchase verification
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

• Anonymous user identifiers
• Purchase transaction data
• Device type and app version

5.2 Apple App Store

5.3 Icon Search Services

When you search for subscription icons, we may query:

• Google Custom Search API (for icon images)
• iTunes Search API (for app icons)

These services only receive the search term you enter. No personal information is shared.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Control

You have full control over your data:

• View: All your data is visible within the app
• Edit: Modify or delete any subscription data at any time
• Export: Export all your data as JSON or CSV (Premium feature)
• Delete: Delete individual subscriptions or all data from Settings

6.2 iCloud Sync

• Enable or disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings
• Disabling iCloud sync stops syncing but doesn't delete existing iCloud data
• To delete iCloud data: Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → SubWise → Delete Data

6.3 Face ID/Touch ID

• Biometric authentication is optional
• Enable or disable in Settings → Security
• We do NOT store or access your biometric data

6.4 Notifications

• Renewal reminders are optional
• Control notification permissions in iOS Settings → SubWise → Notifications

7. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as you use the app:

• Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
• iCloud Data: Stored in your iCloud until you disable sync and delete the data
• Purchase History: Managed by RevenueCat and Apple, subject to their retention policies

When you uninstall the app, all local data is automatically deleted from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

SubWise is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account. If you enable iCloud sync, your data may be transferred to and stored in Apple's data centers worldwide according to Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification for material changes

Your continued use of SubWise after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

11. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect
• Know whether we sell or share your personal information (we don't)
• Access your personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt-out of the sale of your personal information (not applicable - we don't sell data)

If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of your data
• Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure: Delete your data
